Penelope (Penny) Christy:  

Life I am a Commercial Hot Air Balloon Pilot in Connecticut and am an officer in CLAS (CT. Lighter than Air Society). We fly as often as weather permits and it¿s gorgeous to fly here! I go to the balloon events in CT; NJ, Glens Falls and Cambridge, NY; St. Jean sur Richelieu in Quebec, as well as fly with a great group of pilots here in New England. I organize the club¿s annual hot air ballooning safety seminar and this year it was at Yale. Awesome! The Academy of Mastery, our newly formed non- profit just received our IRS 501(c)(3) status. As President, I spend time raising money (writing grants and having fundraisers) and producing the Entrepreneurial Course for High School Students for Connecticut urban high schools. The website for the academyofmastery organization has a lively video of the students who are the object of our organization. It¿s amazing to see their faces at the end of their 9-week course and know that they have experienced creating a business from nothing and are now working as a team, selling their products to the public, their family and friends. Not only that, these students now have a chance to apply their life-long toolkit and experience to the vision they have for their lives. They learned that there¿s no one else responsible for their success except themselves!!!
